Senior Kubernetes Platform Engineer

Location:Brussels, Belgium

Work Model: Hybrid - minimum 3 days per week on-site (days may be non-consecutive)

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Kubernetes Platform Engineer with strong experience in production Kubernetes service management and large-scale cluster operations. The role focuses on designing, deploying, and maintaining reliable, scalable, and secure Kubernetes platforms across cloud and virtualized environments, using automation and GitOps best practices.

Your Background

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.

• At least 5 years of proven professional experience managing Kubernetes in production

Technical Skills We Value

• 5+ years of experience managing Kubernetes in production

• Proven experience with large-scale Kubernetes clusters

• Strong understanding of container orchestration and cloud-native architecture

• Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud provider: AWS (EKS), Azure (AKS), or GCP (GKE)

• Experience with IaC, CI/CD, and GitOps practices

• Solid troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

Tech Stack (You Don’t Need Everything, but Most of It)

• Containerization: Strong understanding of Docker, Podman, and container orchestration principles

• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Proficiency with Terraform, Ansible, or Pulumi

• Cloud Platforms: Hands-on experience with AWS (EKS), Azure (AKS), and/or GCP (GKE)

• Virtualization: Familiarity with VMware and Microsoft virtualization technologies

• Monitoring & Logging: Experience with Prometheus, Grafana, and the ELK stack

• CI/CD & GitOps: Experience with Helm, ArgoCD, and GitOps workflows

• Storage Solutions: Knowledge of S3, MinIO, NooBaa, and software-defined storage

• Scripting & Automation: Proficiency in Bash and/or Python

• Service Mesh: Experience with Istio or Linkerd

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and scale Kubernetes clusters in production

• Deploy and manage containerized workloads using Docker and Podman

• Automate infrastructure with Terraform, Ansible, or Pulumi

• Implement CI/CD and GitOps practices using Helm and ArgoCD

• Monitor platforms using Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK

• Manage cloud and on-prem environments (AWS, Azure, GCP, VMware)

• Work with cloud-native storage solutions (S3, MinIO, NooBaa)

• Support service mesh implementations (Istio or Linkerd)

• Automate operational tasks with Bash or Python

• Collaborate with engineering teams to improve platform reliability
